Frequently Asked Questions

Do you make fully custom fit jeans?

We don't. We worked hard to create specific styles that we love and hope you will too. We do offer inseam adjustments at no extra charge and but render your jeans final sale. If you'd rather try them for size before having them hemmed to make sure they fit that's no problem too. We offer custom hems for $30 including shipping. You can find that option here

What if I would like to return my jeans for exchange or refund?

We have a reliable and detailed return policy that covers any issues that might come up. Check it out here or reach out to us with any questions.

What does "CINCHED" refer to and if I have it done can I still return my jeans?

CINCHED is something you can request have done to your jeans before they are cut and sewn. In our first year of business we called this the STEP-SISTER but as styles are added we thought we'd make it universal to all. A CINCHED pair of T.I.P. denim jeans has one inch taken out at the waistband for those with a more pronounced hourglass figure. If you own a pair of STEP-SISTER jeans this option is for you. It is not at the moment considered a custom alteration and therefore you may still return or exchange your jeans if for some reason what arrives isn't exactly what you were hoping for.

Who makes the jeans I am buying?

I do! Each pair of T.I.P. branded denim is hand cut, sewn and finished in our shop by the owner and operator, Marielle La Rue.

What is my inseam?

An inseam refers to the length of the inside seam of your pants, from the center crotch point to the bottom of your ankle. Use a soft measuring tape and a friend to determine the right length for you. If you're unsure you can always have your jeans hemmed after purchase, by us or someone else you trust. Our off-the-rack inseam is between 30" and 32" depending on style. If you need something longer please reach out for custom ordering.

What does rise refer to?

Rise refers to the distance from the center point of the crotch (where the seams meet) to the waistband above the top button. "back rise" refers to the distance from the center point of the crotch all the way to the top of the waistband in the back.

Will my jeans stretch?

Since we only use 100% cotton your denim will relax over time, especially in high stress areas like around your hips, thighs + knees. It's important to keep this in mind when deciding on your size. Choose a size that fits good + snug but is still comfortable on the first try.

What size am I?

We've made sure to add as many sizing details as possible to each of our garments to help you choose the right one for you. As each denim is different, our printed sizes aren't always the same, so make sure to use the chart + suggestions provided to help you choose the right size for you. If you need help or have questions you can check out our measuring guide here or reach out to us directly. We're here to help.

How do I wash my jeans and should i?

We highly recommend you wash your new jeans inside out, by themselves and in cold water with a cup of vinegar for the first few times. This will help to prevent colour runs and streaking while your jeans wear in. Always hang them to dry fully and toss them in the dryer for no more than five minutes to soften them up before wearing them again. Wash them as little or as much as you want, but remember, the more you wash the faster they will fade and the more prone to wear and tear they'll become.

Do you offer repairs?

We will happily repair any pair of TIP branded denim. Check out The Repair Shop for details.
